Pak Hok Residence, Kowloon Tong
Our Story

A Home Tended With Quiet Attention

Pak Hok was shaped by a single conviction: that the years after work deserve the same consideration and ease that a good home has always offered.

Who We Are

Pak Hok — White Crane Residence

The name Pak Hok — White Crane — carries an old appreciation in Chinese culture for grace, steadiness and a long, considered life. We chose it deliberately. It reflects the kind of place we wanted to build: not a facility, but a home where older adults move through their days with dignity and at their own pace.

Pak Hok opened on Broadcast Drive in Kowloon Tong because the neighbourhood itself suited the idea. The streets are quiet, the gardens of the area are mature, and the community already had a character that made it easy for residents to feel settled rather than relocated.

What began with a small number of residents has grown into a community of familiar faces — people who share breakfast in the same dining hall each morning and know the courtyard well enough to find their favourite bench without looking.

Our Mission

Good Living, Looked After Well

Our mission is straightforward: to provide older adults in Hong Kong with a place that combines comfort and company in equal measure. We are not a medical facility, and we do not present ourselves as one. What we offer is a considered lifestyle residence — clean, calm, well-fed and sociable.

Every arrangement at Pak Hok — whether a resident joins us for meals alone or takes a full room — is designed to be easy to understand, transparent in cost and simple to adjust as needs change over time.

We believe the people who come to live here deserve the same courtesy and attention they would expect from the best years of their own home life. That standard guides every decision we make, from how the dining menu is written to how new residents are welcomed on their first day.

The People Here

Those Who Look After the Day-to-Day

Pak Hok is a small residence, and that shows in how well the team knows each resident — their preferences, their routines, the names of their family members.

How We Work

Our Standards and Commitments

A residence of this kind is only as good as the habits its staff keep every single day — not the ones on paper, but the ones practised without prompting.

Resident Privacy Respected

Rooms are private and entered by staff only with clear purpose. Resident information is kept confidential and is never shared without consent.

Food Safety and Hygiene

Our kitchen follows Hong Kong Food Safety standards. Menus are reviewed regularly and ingredients are sourced from reliable local suppliers familiar with our kitchen's expectations.

Daily Housekeeping Standards

Rooms are cleaned daily with attention to detail. Linen is changed on a regular schedule. Common areas are maintained throughout the day so the residence always feels orderly and welcoming.

Fire Safety Compliance

The residence meets all current Hong Kong Fire Services requirements. Safety equipment is inspected regularly and staff are trained in evacuation procedures at least twice a year.

Open Communication with Families

Families are welcome to visit and contact the office during working hours. Our team keeps an open channel for questions, feedback and any concerns about a resident's experience.

Member of HKRHA

Pak Hok is a participating member of the Hong Kong Residential Homes Association, which encourages ongoing professional development and peer review among residential care providers in the city.

A Community Grown Over Time

Senior living in Hong Kong presents particular considerations. Space is at a premium, families are often dispersed across the city, and the social networks that sustained people through working life can thin as the years pass. Pak Hok was built as a direct response to that reality — a place where the practical needs of daily life are handled well so that residents have energy left for the things they actually enjoy.

Our location on Broadcast Drive means residents are in a calm, leafy corner of Kowloon Tong while remaining accessible to family members coming from across the city. The MTR, bus routes and local amenities all sit within manageable distance, which matters for residents who still move about independently and for families who visit regularly.

What We Value

  • Steadiness over noveltyResidents value routine. We keep the dining schedule, the garden hours and the household rhythms consistent so that daily life feels familiar and untroubling.
  • Transparency in everythingPricing, services and any changes to arrangements are communicated plainly and in advance. We do not use fine print, and we do not change terms without clear notice.
  • Personal attention at scaleWe keep the residence deliberately small. Staff know residents by name, by preference and by history. That familiarity is not a luxury — it is central to what makes Pak Hok work.

Come and Meet the Team

The best way to understand what life at Pak Hok is like is to visit. We are glad to show families and prospective residents around, answer questions and share a cup of tea in the dining room.
